About

Bright Heart Arts is the artistic expression of my unique life experience.

I was born in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, and came to the United States in 1965

As a naïve 15-year-old I  struggled to fit into my new normal and be part of my new world as much as I could, needless to say, it was difficult not knowing the language or the culture. I began painting with watercolors early on and loved the flowing medium to allow my imagination to fly freely and to be able to put on paper more for myself than for anyone else. Later, I began quilting to expand my creative repertoire, and it helped me hone my use of color, design, and imagination. I was nearing the end of my career and wanted to focus 100% on my art and I am now able to do just that.

I am currently creating artwork to share with the world, and myself through my brush.

My love of nature is apparent in all my pieces, but nothing inspires me more than the oceans, beaches, and marine life.

So, with an open mind and an open heart, I invite everyone to explore the things that I have created, and if something strikes you, please share it, and may the fire burn brightly in your heart as fiercely as it does in mine.

Best,

Cari Brown
